YES MA'AM

When did parents start telling their kids to use manners and then disregarding their own advice?
Why is this happening? Are people just being lazy with how they raise their kids or have the kids just grown into adults who just don't care?

1.) When the woman at the bowling alley snickers and questions "Why are you calling me ma'am?" It's called respect! Maybe you should get some....

2.) When someone sends you a personal invitation that says "RSVP" you RSVP!! I don't know if people just don't realize what that means but it's "Respond si vou plait" AKA RESPOND PLEASE. It is a common courtesy when ignored is sooooooooooo annoying.

3.) When you say you're going to do something-DO IT. And if you don't or can't do not leave the person haning. I mean all I can say to this is...RUDE

4.) When someone holds a door open for you (which is good manners enough) at least be polite enough to say "Hey, Thanks!" When someone does something nice or goes out of their way for you in general a "Thank You" is always good practice.

5.) Stop interrupting people! (take notice of this Romney/Obama) I don't know if your parents forgot to mention but when someone else is in the middle of saying something you should let them finish....THEN go ahead and say whatever you were cleverly crafting in your mind while they were still talking.

Now, it is rude to rant..which is the main reason I have made this less of a rant and more of an informative post :) I hope you will all take something away from this post and refrain from doing all of the ridiculously annoying things above!

Perk Up Buttercup

I know it's Tuesday Snoozeday and you feel like the week will NEVER end.
So today is all about some fun pick-you-ups to help you make it by!

It could be worse...I mean this could be your car.

OR worse than that this video could be dedicated to you!
We were never actually together either....awkward.

But most of all, we should all be thankful we are not shoved into a car with 19 preschoolers on the way to a celebratory lunch.....31 miles away!
I guess it's not all bad though, she only had to pay a $170 fine and agree to have the children transported back in less "extreme" conditions.

Sunday Funday

The best way to celebrate Sunday Funday is with these "Slutty Brownies"
You'll want to make sure you stock up on the milk before you proceed!!

Ingredients:

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
9 Reese Cups
9 Oreos
1 Box of Fudge Brownie Mix (3 eggs, oil and water)

Spread the cookie dough thin in a 9x9 baking dish (make sure to spray first!) Now we layered the Reese cups and the followed up with the Oreos..I would sugguest swapping those two to help it bake better!

Go ahead and whip up your brownie mix: all you'll need for this is 3 eggs, 1/2 cup of oil and 1/4 cup of water and pour over top of your baking dish.

Let it settle for a minute and go ahead and put it in the oven on 350 for 40-50 minutes-definitely make sure that you check it and make sure the center is NOT gooey before you take it out!

Wah-La. Layers of warm chocolate chip cookies, followed by gooey peanut butter cups and crunchy oreos all cased in a brownie! Delicious. Make sure to pair with milk.

YoMamaCare

"It puts in place an unelected board that's ultimately going to tell people what kind of treatment they can have and I don't like that idea."
-Mitt Romney during Presidential Debate on ObamaCare

Really? You don't like the idea of people telling you what kind of treatment you can have but one of your first acts of President (which will never happen) would be to cut all federal funding for Planned Parenthood? Over turn Roe vs. Wade? Propose plans that allow employers to opt out of contraception coverage on religious and moral grounds?
Well Mittens, I don't particularly take fancy to the idea of a MAN telling me what decisions I can and can't make with my own body. Telling me when, where and how I can reproduce.

Planned Parenthood in some areas of this country is the only place where women can go to have basic exams? PAP smears-Mammograms? Provide contraception to women who would other wise be without it?

"Mitt is pro-life, with exceptions for cases of rape, incest, or the health and life of the mother"

Well that's just great, I applaud you for at least acknowledging exceptions to your narrow minded thinking, but how to you plan on enforcing this? A woman must immediately go to the hospital, do a rape kit, press charges in the event that 8 weeks later she finds out she is
pregnant and needs proof to support her abortion.........yeah, good luck with that.

According to Glamour Magazine, 91% of readers (obviously predominantly female) say insurers should cover contraception like any other medication. And why wouldn't you?!?!?! What is wrong with protecting yourself? I mean..has no one heard the term "Better safe than sorry" ?? Condoms-yeah those are super EXCEPT when they rip, have been sitting in your wallet for 3 years or you just don't "like" them. Abstinence whatever floats your boat. But people..come on. This is 2012 not 1956.

"Look, I've got two daughters, and I want to empower them to make good decisions. They're not going to make good decisions because somebody in Congress is restricting them."
-President Obama to Glamour Magazine

Women need full access to health care and should never have their rights infringed on.
Personally, I like controlling my life, my relationships, my body and most of all my choices and I don't ever want to see that taken away from anyone on any level.

Nashville

Very very exciting news to share with everyone today!
Nashville premieres on ABC tonight at 10 PM.

Now normally, I wouldn't give two cares in the world, until I read this article.
Now if you know me, you know that I have been promoting the Stella sisters on my Facebook and Pinterest
for almost 3 months. They are amazing. If my children grew up to be even half as talented as they are I would be the proudest person in the world.
The producers are literally re-writting the roles to fit perfectly for them.

They have a youtube channel here but by far, hands down, their best performance is their cover of

You can also buy it on iTunes!
Enjoy Friends...and don't forget it's Wednesday that means:

Modern Family

Are You My Type?

Every time you go to donate, you're asked for one pint. With that one pint you can save as many as three people's lives. Provide them with more moments and more importantly, more memories they get to create with their family. 4.5 million American's would die each year without life saving blood transfusions. One out of every three seconds someone needs blood. 20 minutes of your time could easily gift to them 20+ more years on their life.

Approximately 32,000 pints of blood are used each day in the United States. One out of every ten people entering the hospital need a life saving blood transfusion. According to ABC News the blood shortage was so bad this September various elective surgeries were cancelled all over the nation. If all blood donors donated just two to four times a year it would prevent blood shortages.

I personally donate platelets-They are highly recommended for donation with my blood type. Platelet donations can be done every 2 weeks-giving you the opportunity to donate 24 times in one year. For every one donation you can save as many as 8-12 lives. Multiply that by 24....I think you get the point. It can take up to two hours to do a platelet donation...but don't worry you get pampered :)

Anonymous

"I'm the only one that posts on this shitty blog and you keep erasing my posts, you're close to losing your only reader. i will stay around only if you post a picture of the next shit you take and leave my posts."
-Anonymous

Hey Anonymous, Guess what?!? NOTHING.
Yeah, nothing. I really don't care.

I figured since you're my one and only reader and I'm on the verge of losing you I should do something extra special.
Cue your very own post! Quite an honor, considering I never make 2 posts in 1 day. But I figure if anyone deserves it, it's you baby!

I just want to say that I'm so happy someone is so concerned with my bowel movements and making sure I'm regular. It's great that you even want photo evidence, thanks for looking out!
You should probably monitor my diet as well, make sure I get plenty of fiber...

Also, I would post a picture of my boobs, but I've already had my yearly mammogram. Are you in med school? I mean part of me thinks yes, and part no. Your grammar and spelling are atrocious, yet you have an odd fascination with making sure I'm in peak physical condition....Odd.

I mean as flattered as I am that you are my only reader, meaning you must have viewed my 5 blog entry over  170 times solely on your own, I kind of....don't care. I mean don't get me wrong, I feel horrible that your life is so slow and boring that that is all you do...but hey, at least I'm here to entertain you. I mean, do you have cable? You could always try to watch cable...Honey Boo Boo is on Wednesdays on TLC. Oh and don't worry, if you don't have cable, I know someone who can help you with that ;)

THIS ONE IS DEDICATED TO YOU BABY!

Haters Gonna Hate.

We're Making it Montag

According to a survey done by the Huffington Post, American adults reveal that, despite the tireless efforts of the Food Network, Bobby Flay and KitchenDaily, 28% of Americans--almost a third--don't know how to cook. Said ignorance was the second-most-cited reason for not cooking regularly. Don't fear my friends, readers and country men...You don't have to be ignorant for long!

Step One: Home Made Sammie Sauce

Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef seasoned with parmesean cheese and Sammie's special blend of seasoning (you're not getting that Plankton)
2 cans of meat pasta sauce
1 can of Original Rotel
half block of cream cheese
spoon full of sour cream
3 shakes of Parmesean cheese
Shake in some salt, pepper
Pinch of :
Thyme
Basil
Oregano
Nutmeg

  • Heat sauce on warm 1 hour covered.
  • Boil water, add salt, cook 1 box Rotini- al dente.
  • In baking dish, layer Rotini and Sammie Sauce.

Cover entire top of casserole in grated Mozzarella cheese and pepperoni.
Bake uncovered on 350 for 25-30 minutes.
Pair with garlic bread (no need to make from scratch.)

And because I know it's not rewarding enough to simply feed yourself (aka you have to flaunt your delicious creation to everyone) This recipe also yields enough to do this:

Clean out one of the sauce jars, remove label and fill with your delicious Sammie sauce.
Pair with a box of pasta and re-gift!

And don't worry, if you're still feeling culinar-ily challenged even after reading this, we still have something for you:

McLovin'

5 Things I'm Loving this Month:

1. Return of Grey's.
I think this one speaks for itself considering here at South Rex Road we have a weekly Thursday special dedicated to all things Grey's I'm sure no-one is surprised to see this at the top of my list. Of course, I'm thrilled all my favorite doctors are back but I have to admit there are some changes that need to be made. (SPOILER ALERT AHEAD) Step one: Lexie and Mark come back to life, fall in love and FINALLY get married and be happy. Step two: Kill Arizona. I understand in a horrific plane crash someone has to die...she has my vote. She is SO moody. C-YA!

In case you missed last weeks episode here is the link:

I know it's addicting, but remember, no Grey's on Thursday October 11th.

2.Barbara Evans
You remember her from MTV's Teen Mom 2. Jenelle's Motha. Well not only did she give us so much on the show to love her for but she also has blessed us with her Twitter page...and it is amazing.

You can follow her @BabsEvansMTV

3.McDonald's Monopoly
It's baaaaack. The return of McDonald's Monopoly has American's everywhere stuffing their faces with McNuggets, Medium Drinks and Large Fries to get in on the action. I'm not going to lie...I've got my game board in my purse ready whenever the opportunity presents itself. Do you know how easy those little game pieces are to misplace? Now let's face it...the odds of you actually winning a big prize are slim to none. Actually, according to SignificanceMagazine.org you have more change of winning the lottery...twice. Don't fret my friends-hang in there for the instant wins. I've already scored 5 free medium fries, 1 free McFlurry and 1 free breakfast sandwich. Not too shabby. But if you are serious you can visit Ebay for all the pieces you don't have! Happy Playing my friends...and may the odds be ever in your favor!

4.Alex Cross-The Movie

In case you haven't read the series Alex Cross is a character by James Patterson. I only learned of this new movie by a commercial I just happened to catch on TV and imagine my surprise/joy. Although I don't know how I feel about the actor playing Cross yet, I don't have too much else to say for this one....I'll let the trailer speak for itself.

5.Studmuffing

This is Glamour Magazine's word of the month. I think this is something we can ALL work into our vocabulary a little more. I mean if Giuliana Rancic can make "amazeballs" work then this is a done deal.

Catterday

Every year, nearly 4 million cats are eaten in Asia.
and approximately 40,000 people are bitten by cats in the U.S...I assume that is mostly at Asian restaurants.

On average, cats spend 2/3 of every day sleeping. That means a nine-year-old cat has been awake for only three years of its life. Maybe that's why they're such an easy target....

If they have ample water, cats can tolerate temperatures up to 133 °F...so I wouldn't be too concerned with the sweater.

According to Hebrew legend, Noah prayed to God for help protecting all the food he stored on the ark from being eaten by rats. In reply, God made the lion sneeze, and out popped a cat. Makes sense why they're always licking themselves now..

In just seven years, a single pair of cats and their offspring could produce a staggering total of 420,000 kittens...and all a long we have been worried about rabbits!

Freaky (Feedback) Friday

Freaky Feedback Friday

For our fist Freaky Friday I want to hear back from you! I've scowered all over to find some of the strangest things and I want to know what you think of them.

Let's start with the best of the best:

On September 25th-Jon Zimbelman watched his wife Erin give birth to their twins Braylon and Brielle from Iraq....via skype. Get your Ipad out because there is about to be a show! Now the new dad's mother actually died in July so he used his one trip home for her funeral (an agonizing decision I'm sure) So the Zimbelman's relied on the next best thing: Modern Technology! Now I know birth is a special thing and I imagine it would be hard to do it alone but how many of us would feel comfortable skyping the whole thing?? Male & Female opinions appreciated!

"Usually Iraq has pretty bad internet connection, but it was flawless the whole way through."
-Jon Zimbelman, 31. Whitefish, Montana.

Last but not Least:

Watch, Listen and Reply!

Happy Weekend Friends! Don't forget tomorrow is our very first Catterday!

Samantha Grace Mercy Rex

"Somehow we forget that all that matters is people and whether we walk away leaving them better-or worse for having met us. We control that Avery."
-Mark Sloan 10/04/12

Well, that is a wrap folks. Seven (ish) seasons and it's all over. What a great way to start out the Samantha Grace Mercy Rex segment than to pay homage to McSteamy.
Go ahead and admit you're surprised there is a wiki page dedicated to him..and you know you want to look. Well I believe in giving into your guilty pleasures so here you go. Don't forget: in typical Grey's fashion they will be taking a break next week as they hook us in and make us wait. Stay Tuned for the next portion of Samantha Grace Mercy Rex returning 10/18/12.
